ParanormaCruise 2026 | Speaking Engagement

This Agreement is made as of 05/09/2026 by and between Gather Up Events (the Organizer), and Jessica Chobot (the Speaker).

Gather Up Events hereby engages the Speaker to deliver presentations, performances, or other engagements as further described below, and the Speaker agrees to perform the engagement under the following terms and conditions.

  • Title of Event: 2026 ParanormaCruise: Halloween at Sea
  • Venue/Locations: Norwegian Breakaway, Boston, Salem, Halifax, and Bermuda
  • Performance Dates: The cruise will sail from October 25 through November 1, 2026. A pre-cruise excursion to Salem will be held on October 24, 2026. There is also a possibility of a night engagement in Boston.

Compensation

Speakers will be paid Net 30 from the cruise completion date on a per-cabin-sold basis as follows:

  • If the Speaker is chosen as the person the attendee is "Coming to See," the Speaker will receive $90 for that cabin.
  • If no Speaker is chosen as the person the attendee is "Coming to See," the Speaker will receive $60 for that cabin.
  • If a different Speaker is chosen as the person the attendee is "Coming to See," the Speaker will receive $45 for that cabin.
  • A sellout of 200 cabins would imply potential earnings of roughly $9,000 to $18,000 per Speaker. Additional cabins may be added.

Cruise Accommodations: Speaker will receive a balcony stateroom for 2 onboard the Norwegian Breakaway. Accomadations can be adjusted if bringing children

Hotel Accommodations: In Boston, the Organizer will provide a hotel stay on the night or nights prior to the Salem pre-excursion or cruise departure.

Other Travel Considerations: A travel allowance of $2000 for flights will be paid by the Organizer.

Onboard Presentations: TBD, but the current expectation is 3 to 5 programmed events and 3 to 4 dinners.

Excursions & In-Port Events: The Speaker will have one or more group excursions scheduled in the ports of call. Ports include Salem, Halifax, and Bermuda. In Bermuda, the Organizer may also host a large event for attendees and may open attendance to local residents. Speakers may have 30 to 45 minutes of stage time there and may also be given a booth for interacting with attendees.

Speaker Dinners: On Days 1, 2, 3, and 5, the Organizer will make 6 to 8 seats available for purchase at private tables with each Speaker.

Venue

Gather Up Events shall provide an adequate venue for all Speaker events. Gather Up Events may, at its discretion, change the venue location at any time to accommodate changes in the number of attendees or for maintenance or other reasons.

Technology

Gather Up Events will provide all required equipment necessary to allow the Speaker to share their presentation, images, video, and audio.

Permission to Photograph and Record

The parties agree that Gather Up Events may make audio and video recordings of the Speaker’s performance and include portions of such recordings or photography in media publications. Photographs, videos, or recordings made by Gather Up Events will be used only for media and marketing purposes, or other commemorative or news publications. These recordings will not be used, sold, or broadcast without permission.

Publicity

Gather Up Events shall be entitled to publicize the Speaker’s appearance to the Gather Up Events community and the local public, utilizing all materials provided by the Speaker.

We request that you provide 2 to 5 high-resolution photos for promotional activities. Among these images, it would be ideal to have a traditional headshot as well as at least one photo with a relevant background. In this type of photo, your person should take up between 30 and 50 percent of the horizontal space.

We also ask that you provide a 30 to 60-second video to be used in ads. These videos are needed as soon as possible, but no later than 14 days after receiving this contract. Please contact us for more details or clarification if needed.

We will provide you with a link to our EPK no less than 270 days before the event. This will contain relevant graphics, videos, and links for you to download and use in promoting your appearance. It is expected that the Speaker will participate in the promotion of the event through their own channels.

Merchandise

The Speaker may, at their discretion, offer merchandise for sale on the event website. They will be given a final sales list 45 days before the event to ensure adequate shipping time prior to the cruise. Speakers may sell as many items as they would like but are responsible for the shipping of the items sold. Speaker will receive 95 percent of the total sales fees, with Gather Up Events keeping 5 percent to cover processing fees and administrative costs.

Readiness to Perform

If the Speaker is not ready to perform at the event’s starting time, or if the Speaker arrives in such a condition as to appear to a reasonable person to be incapable of performing in an acceptable manner, the Speaker shall be deemed to have committed a material breach of this contract. Gather Up Events shall have the right to cancel the performance or terminate the performance in progress and to refuse payment accordingly.

This provision shall not apply in the event that the Speaker is unable to perform due to a verified medical condition or medical emergency that arises immediately prior to or during the event, provided that the Speaker makes reasonable efforts to notify Gather Up Events as soon as practicable and, if requested, provides reasonable documentation confirming such condition or emergency. In such circumstances, Gather Up Events retains the right to cancel the appearance without penalty to either party.

Rest & Turnaround Time

Organizer agrees to make reasonable efforts to ensure that Speaker is provided with a minimum turnaround period of twelve (12) hours between the conclusion of scheduled tour activities on one day and the commencement of the Speaker’s required duties on the following day. This turnaround period is intended to allow adequate rest for the Speaker.

Speaker acknowledges that cruise itineraries and event schedules may occasionally require minor adjustments. Organizer will make good-faith efforts to maintain the twelve (12) hour turnaround whenever reasonably practicable and will communicate any necessary scheduling changes as early as possible.

Independent Contractor

The parties are independent contractors, and neither is an employee of the other. Each party shall be responsible for, and hold the other harmless from, any injuries caused by it or suffered by its personnel during the performance of this agreement, including injuries that may be compensable under any workers’ compensation laws.

Cancellation & Cancellation Compensation

If the Speaker cancels their participation due to an acceptable reason, the Speaker shall receive $90 for each cabin purchased that selected the Speaker as the "Coming to See" selection. This compensation will be paid in full for acceptable cancellations occurring on or before July 31, 2026. For cancellations occurring after July 31, 2026, the amount earned through the cabin referral program shall be applied solely as a credit toward any applicable cancellation penalties, with any surplus going to the speaker.

Acceptable reasons include:

  • Verified medical emergency or incapacitation that prevents travel or performance
  • Death or serious family emergency
  • A confirmed major television or motion picture filming obligation that conflicts with the event dates

For purposes of this Agreement, a major television or motion picture filming obligation refers to a professionally contracted production for a broadcast television network, major streaming platform, or motion picture studio.

Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, if the Speaker cancels their participation due to a verified medical emergency, incapacitation, or other serious health-related condition that prevents travel or performance, such cancellation shall be considered an acceptable reason and shall not be subject to any cancellation penalties, regardless of when the cancellation occurs. The Speaker agrees to notify Gather Up Events as soon as reasonably practicable.

This provision does not apply to commitments related to YouTube productions, podcasts, online media appearances, guest interviews, or similar engagements.

If the Speaker cancels for reasons not listed above, no compensation shall be owed by Gather Up Events regardless of timing.

Speaker Cancellation and Penalties

The Speaker acknowledges that their participation may be used in promotional materials to sell cabins and event attendance. A cancellation by the Speaker may cause substantial financial harm to the Organizer. The cancellation penalties described herein represent a reasonable estimate of damages and are agreed to by the parties as liquidated damages and not as a penalty.

If the Speaker elects to cancel this Agreement for any reason after July 31, 2026, the following cancellation fees shall apply:

  • Cancellations made between August 1 and August 31, 2026, will incur a fee of $1,500
  • Cancellations made between September 1 and September 30, 2026, will incur a fee of $2,500
  • Cancellations made on or after October 1, 2026, will incur a fee of $5,000

If the Speaker cancels after July 31, 2026, for an acceptable reason as defined in this Agreement, any compensation earned by the Speaker through the cabin referral program shall be applied as a credit toward the applicable cancellation fee.

If the referral earnings exceed the applicable cancellation fee, no additional payment shall be owed to the Speaker.

Non-Appearance and Compensation

If the Speaker fails to appear and perform at the event without prior cancellation under the terms of this Agreement, Gather Up Events shall not owe the Speaker any speaking fee, referral compensation, or other performance compensation.

This provision applies only to unnotified non-appearance and does not supersede or invalidate the Cancellation & Cancellation Compensation or Speaker Cancellation and Penalties provisions described above.

Force Majeure

Performance by either party may be excused by the occurrence of events beyond the control of the parties, including unavoidable travel interruptions, weather-related emergencies, fire, strikes, labor disputes, death, legitimate family emergency, or terrorism, provided that the affected party provides notice to the other as soon as reasonably possible after the event. Upon the declaration of a force majeure event, neither party shall bear liability to the other for non-performance. The parties agree to work together in good faith to discuss alternative dates.

Amendment

This Agreement may not be amended except by a writing signed by the parties.

Confidentiality

The parties agree to maintain the absolute confidentiality of all the terms, conditions, and arrangements contained herein and associated with the appearance by the Speaker.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Agreement to be executed by their respective authorized representatives to be effective as of the date first above written.
